Fire ban lifted for Leduc County
Effective immediately, Leduc County is no longer under a fire ban due to cooler conditions and increased precipitation and has returned to a fire restriction as of noon, May 15, 2025.
Under a fire restriction, no open fires, smudge fires or fires contained to burn barrels are allowed. The discharge of fireworks is not allowed.
All fire permits remain suspended, as per the Forest and Prairie Protection Act, and no new fire permits will be issued for the duration of this restriction.
Residents may have a recreational fire in a firepit fueled by dry wood, a campfire at a campsite, use gas/propane appliances such as barbecues, heaters, and firepits, and use solid-fuel (charcoal and pellets) appliances.
To learn more about what fire pits are permitted for use, please visit the Controlled Burning section.
Fire officials will continue to monitor conditions, and will update the public at leduc-county.com and albertafirebans.ca when the restriction is lifted or downgraded, or a ban is issued.
