Programs and workshops

Our economic development program features programs and workshops for businesses of all sizes across a variety of industries.

Interested in a program or topic but don’t see it here? Contact our team to explore the possibilities.

Please note: the agritourism workshop scheduled for Oct. 17 and 18 has been rescheduled to Nov. 5 and 6.

Leduc County is actively working to grow the potential for agri-tourism in our region and support businesses interested in developing new revenue-generating activities that will attract visitors. Based on the recommendations from our 2020 Agritourism Strategy and the Agritourism Visioning Workshop held in March 2023, with grant funding support from Travel Alberta and in partnership with the Chamber, we are offering two training opportunities that you won’t want to miss.

  • An experiential training program combining online learning and an in-person workshop (Nov. 5 and 6, 2023), followed up with group coaching sessions designed to spark and advance ideas for new, market-ready agritourism experiences and itineraries that cluster visitor activities around a theme; and
  • The opportunity to receive a review of your digital presence, personalized digital report card, and 1:1 coaching session to discuss the findings and actions that can be taken to enhance your digital presence.

Space is limited, and businesses that create new visitor experiences or partnered itineraries will have the opportunity to receive marketing and promotion support through Discover Leduc Region in spring 2024 to help increase awareness of your new offer!

Don’t miss out on this unique training opportunity. Contact Bryanna Kumpula-Yung at bryanna@leduc-county.com (587) 986-6267 to express your interest in registering.

The BizExchange is a newly launched initiative through the Business and Entrepreneur Centre in Nisku Business Park. The program is dedicated to bringing business owners together to act as one another’s unofficial 'board of advisors', with the goal of supporting each other, navigating common problems, and sharing ideas and strategies to help each other succeed.

We will be hosting all meetings at the Business and Entrepreneur Centre (606 18 Ave., Nisku).

The program is your chance to join an in-person small business problem-solving initiative and make the most of opportunities.

Meetings are held once a month and last for about two hours. Each individual cohort decides collectively on a meeting day and time.

Why should you join?

The BizExchange offers participants the chance to develop their business skills and learn from the experiences of peers through:

  • Accessing the knowledge of an experienced and trusted network
  • Forming new connections with the business owners in your community
  • Accessing additional business supports such as guest speakers, workshops, and more
  • Dynamic thinking and growth through interaction with different business owners

Upcoming events

  • The next cohort will begin in September 2024. Email Maureen to apply to join the next cohort.

  • Any industry, business owner or manager is welcome to apply to join!
    • Please note space is limited; each cohort group has a maximum of 15 participants.
