  • Nisku District South Fire Station now open!

    The Nisku District South Fire Station – the first full-time, 24/7 station in Leduc County – is officially open! The $6.3 million station, which is located on Edmonton International Airport (YEG) lands and supports YEG, the Queen Elizabeth II Highway and Nisku Business Park, became operational in January and was celebrated today with a public, grand opening event.

  • Nisku District South Fire Station grand opening

    Leduc County – in partnership with Edmonton International Airport (YEG) – is hosting a grand opening event for the Nisku District South Fire Station, which is located on airport lands and supports YEG, Queen Elizabeth II Highway and Nisku Business Park with a 24/7 fire crew.

  • UPDATE: mandatory water restriction lifted

    Leduc County has ended its mandatory restriction on non-essential water use, as water levels in local reservoirs have increased sufficiently.

    Although the mandatory restriction has been lifted, residential and commercial citizens are encouraged to continue water conservation measures.

  • Mandatory ban on non-essential water use

    Effective Monday, January 29, 2024, Leduc County entered into a Water Demand Measure C, which means all non-essential water use is prohibited in Leduc County. 

    The switch gear at EL Smith Water Treatment Plant has failed, causing the plant to be out of service and reducing the available supply. The ban is expected to last until EPCOR can complete repairs and restore normal operations at the EL Smith Water Treatment Plant. Repair timelines are currently unknown, but will be updated on this webpage. 

  • Now recruiting paid on-call firefighters at Leduc County

    Leduc County is now recruiting paid on-call firefighters in the Calmar, New Sarepta, Nisku, Thorsby and Warburg fire districts.

  • Christmas in the County

    Looking to escape the city for some winter fun? Plan your next family memory by taking in a few festivities at one or more Leduc County businesses! On Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Leduc County Business and Entrepreneur Centre (BEC) will be hosting a variety of activities.

  • Uniquely Rural - Economic Development

    Leduc County was honoured to participate in Rural Municipalities of Alberta (RMA) Uniquely Rural video series. This video series highlights economic development in a rural setting, and how the County is a true incubator for business.

  • Career Connector Symposium

    We will be co-hosting a regional Career Connector Symposium with adjoining municipalities in our area on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Coast Nisku Inn and Conference Centre (1101 4 Street, Nisku).

  • Mark your calendars for Aug. 24 and join us in Nisku for the last food truck summer event!

    Join us on Thursday, Aug. 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Business and Entrepreneur Centre in Nisku Business Park for a lunchtime summer event of food, fun and, networking!
