  • UPDATE: mandatory water restriction lifted

Leduc County has ended its mandatory restriction on non-essential water use, as water levels in local reservoirs have increased sufficiently.

Although the mandatory restriction has been lifted, residential and commercial citizens are encouraged to continue water conservation measures.

  • Mandatory ban on non-essential water use

Effective Monday, January 29, 2024, Leduc County entered into a Water Demand Measure C, which means all non-essential water use is prohibited in Leduc County.

The switch gear at EL Smith Water Treatment Plant has failed, causing the plant to be out of service and reducing the available supply. The ban is expected to last until EPCOR can complete repairs and restore normal operations at the EL Smith Water Treatment Plant. Repair timelines are currently unknown, but will be updated on this webpage.
